ANNOUNCEMENT

(Limited) In-Person Income Tax Preparation Returns 

Closed since March 16th, 2020, we are delighted to announce the return of in-person income tax preparation services for low to moderate income earning Canadians in our city and community. We would like to welcome back all our volunteers and past clients and we hope to see you all again soon over the current tax season. However, we still have a little ways to go before we can really get back to full capacity. We do not anticipate that happening until at least next year due to the ongoing Public Health Orders around COVID-19.

Clients that will be participating in this year’s income tax clinic need to comply with all existing COVID-19 safety protocols presently in effect at Collingwood Neighbourhood House (social distancing, mandatory facial coverings, practicing proper hand hygiene, etc.) and all participants must also be fully (double or boosted) vaccinated to enter the socially distanced clinic.

Don’t worry, any clients that are not fully vaccinated can still get their taxes completed via Tax2Go - our remote/virtual (drop off/pick up) income tax service.

INSTRUCTIONS:

You will need to bring the following to your appointment:

  1. Proof of vaccination status (BC Vaccination Card or QR Code)

  2. Government Issued Photo ID (Passport or BC ID or BC Driver’s License)

  3. All of your T-Slips and if your are missing any please inform the volunteer or note on the in-take form

  4. A copy of your prior year (i.e. 2020) tax return, if applicable

  5. A copy of your prior year’s notice of assessment/reassessment (letter you get from the CRA after you filed your taxes), if applicable

Note: if you are exhibiting any flu or cold-like and not feeling well prior to appointment, please cancel and re-book your appointment and refrain from entering the clinic.

TAX DEADLINE FOR 2022 is Monday, May 2nd, 2022 (April 30th, 2022 falls on a weekend)

Operating Hours

Our clinic is available from February 27th, 2022 to May 1st, 2022.

Sundays 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM (no appointments between 12 Noon to 1PM)

3690 Vanness Avenue - close to Boundary Road (phone: (604) 428-9142) - enter from the rear doors
Monday - Friday - 9:00 am - 9:00 pm
Saturday - 9:30 am - 8:30 pm
Sunday - 9:00 am - 8:00 pm

HOLIDAY CLOSURE - We will not be operating on Good Friday, April 15th, 2022 and Easter Monday, April 18th, 2022.

Transit & Parking Information. We are approximately 10 minutes East of the Joyce-Collingwood Skytrain Station by foot and accessible by the 28 bus (for further transit information, please refer to the Translink site for further information and assistance).  Free side street and 60 space underground parking (please enter from Ormidale Street) is available.  We are a wheelchair accessible facility.

Walk-in

We may accept limited walk-ins. Please be advised there may be long wait times as we assist patrons with appointments first. Highly recommend to call ahead before coming down to see us at: (604) 428-9142.
